How long does it take to fully recover from dental-related surgeries?

Recovery from oral surgeries typically takes 1 to 2 weeks, depending on the complexity of the procedure and your overall health. For minor surgeries, discomfort and swelling often subside within a few days, while more extensive procedures like dental implants or bone grafts may require longer healing times. Following our post-operative care instructions, including rest, proper oral hygiene, and medication use, can help speed up recovery. Full healing of bone or tissue can take several months, but daily activities resume much sooner.

What can I eat post-treatment?

After your procedure, stick to soft, easy-to-eat foods that don’t require chewing. Options include yogurt, mashed potatoes, scrambled eggs, smoothies, applesauce, soup (lukewarm), and pudding. Avoid hard, crunchy, spicy, or acidic foods that could irritate the surgical site or dislodge blood clots. Stay hydrated with water and avoid straws to prevent dry sockets. As healing progresses, gradually reintroduce firmer foods, following our specific guidance to ensure a safe and comfortable recovery.
